Our Weekend Roundup

This weekend's weather was so nice. It's finally warming up and I'm hoping it sticks around.

On Friday, we decided to take the girls to the Provo City Center Temple open house.  We had tickets for the next weekend but decided to see if they had a long wait on Friday instead. We got right in and had a great experience.

This temple has a pretty amazing story.  It used to be a tabernacle but it burned down about 5 years ago. It was a pretty sad day. But shortly after it burned down, they announced that they would be making it into a temple.  They did a beautiful job at recreating the look of the wood work on the inside. If you've never been inside this building, before or after the fire, I hope you get the chance to! The open house ends on March 5, and anyone is welcome. You don't have to be a member of the LDS church, you don't have to even have a recommend up until the dedicate it, and there is always a stand by line if you can't get tickets.

Saturday morning started out with a Grokker workout for me, and a basket ball game for Trevon. I did a Full Body toning workout from Kelly Lee that I really loved. It was super easy to modify where I needed to and it was full of great exercises that work for pregnant ladies (and not pregnant ladies...or even guys, it doesn't matter:).

Then we spent the rest of the day playing outside. We rode bikes, colored with sidewalk chalk, went to the park, played in the sandbox and had friends play all day long.

While coloring with chalk, J drew this picture and said "I'm sad because it's raining outside and I can't play anymore."  I'm not sure how she came up with this since it was such a beautiful day, but she did a pretty good job on it.

Sunday we spent the day with family. My cousin returned from his LDS mission and had his homecoming. After visiting with family, we went to Trevon's mom's house and visited for the evening while Trevon helped his brother on the car.

What were your weekend highlights?

Anyone else spending more time outside lately?

  1. That was FIVE years ago that it burned down? Holy cow, time is going fast. This is ridiculous.
