Fast Friday

Did this week go by quick for anyone else? I feel like it was so fast! Here is our Fast Friday post.

Last weekend the kids spent some time wrestling each other at home.

We took the kids to a new gym that was having a grand opening. It's called Ninja Playground. It was fun for them to play around. J was convinced that she was ready to join Ninja Warrior Jr by the time we left!

And I went for a run.

On Sunday night the kids set up a play restaurant for us to try. The service was pretty good, but the portions were tiny ;).

I have a couple of recipes to share with you today. The first was because have been craving ice cream really bad but forgot to get some at the store. So I decided to try making some in my Blendtec. It turned out pretty good but not quite like the ice cream I was looking for.

3/4 c half and half
1 1/2 Tbs sugar
2 cups frozen mixed berries

And then I woke up with a small sore throat this week and decided to give myself some extra vitamin C in the form of a smoothie. It was delicious

1/2 a mango
1/2 an orange
1/2 a banana
1/4 c peach yogurt
1/4 c ice
a splash of orange juice.

We had the neighbor kids over for an evening while their parents went on a date night. We've started trading babysitting with our neighbors and we are loving it so far. So are the kids.

We are finishing the Better Me 360 challenge this week! We have been working on emotional wellness and it's been harder for me than I expected. But it's a good challenge. One of the prompts this week was to meditate so I made sure to get some of that in.

After my run yesterday, my knee was bugging so I sat down to ice it but V came over and tried to steal my ice pack. When I told him that it was for my hurt knee he started kissing the ice pack to help it feel better. This boy!

While we were doing chores I found V stashing some toys away.

My workouts this week looked like this:

Saturday: 2 miles easy outside run
Sunday: Rest day
Monday: Foam rolling
Tuesday: Strength training

Wednesday: Foam rolling
Thursday: 3-mile tempo treadmill run 
Friday: Rest day

  1. Babysitting trade off sounds like a good idea. The kids look cute!
    Our tennis center has started offering Ninja classes as well.. the coach is actually one of the guys that was on the American Ninja show.

    1. It has worked really well and it's super convenient to not have to find babysitters as often! That sounds like a really fun class, let me know if you end up trying it! Have a beautiful day Hena!
