Better Me 360 Week 3: Mental Wellness

There are two more weeks left in our Better Me 360 Challenge! Ready for week 3? This week we are focusing on mental wellness.

A lot of people hear mental wellness and think depression and anxiety. We aren't talking about those things this week though. While they have a lot to do will mental wellness, I felt that it would be better to focus on those during the emotional wellness week since they seem to fit better there. So this week we are focusing on mental strength.

Day 1: Do a Crossword Puzzle
Day 2: Read something today that is NOT on your phone.
Day 3: learn something new about history.
Day 4: Watch a documentary.
Day 5: Write a list of mantras to help you when you're struggling.
Day 6: Teach someone something new.
Day 7: Find a new game to challenge your mind.

This week I will be giving the winner a $25 Amazon gift card! The winner will be announced on Monday the 28th, in the usual places! Check in on Instagram, using the #betterme360 and #runninonglife as well as tagging me, to enter!

This week I'm excited to hear what you are learning about and what you're teaching others!

What is your favorite way to challenge your mind?

  1. I'm a huge fan of documentaries for learning!

    1. I'm hoping to find a really good one, any suggestions from Hulu?

  2. I do the daily crossword puzzle in the paper each day. It's my time to use my brain and unplug from things for a few minutes.

  3. Sounds like a great challenge! I like the reading something NOT on a phone--everything's on a screen these days!

    1. Yes! I think that reading something that isn't on a screen is something that most people don't think of but is needed!

  4. I've been trying to set aside time to read every day - and things on my phone don't count! My eyes definitely need a break from all the screen time.

    1. That's awesome!! I'm glad you have already thought to do that. I think we can all benefit from it.

  5. I love reading, crafting or doing jigsaw puzzles. The only reason I don't read more is because i get so lost in books that I neglect all the other things I'm supposed to do. Oops.

  6. I still get the newspaper delivered and read that every day. My husband watches more documentaries than I do -- does over-hearing them count? ;-) I love playing new games, but my husband doesn't, so for that I do turn to apps. Any suggestions?

    1. Sounds like you’ve got a lot of these down! I have really been liking crowd city for a game lately, not that that game is very mind stimulating haha but it’s a good way to zone out.

I hope you join in and post on Instagram this week, with all the things you’ve got done so far, you’d have a good shot at the giveaway!

  7. My favorite mind-challenger is doing Sudoku puzzles. Although I'm more artsy-minded than anything, I'm actually pretty good with number games and strategy/deductive reasoning stuff. Odd combo, huh!
