Fast Friday

Welcome to the weekend, everybody! It has been a weekend of rest and play at our house this week. We are taking recovery seriously.  Sunday morning I got dressed to go to church and was so sore that I could hardly move. So I decided to wear my compression sleeves all around the house until it was time to go. In hindsight, I could have gotten away with wearing them all day long if I wore my maxi skirt instead. Oh well.

That night I sat around in the most comfortable pair of leggings I've ever had (Mind you I've never been a leggings person and will only wear these at home, but they are perfect for sitting at home.) and iced my knee.

M was playing outside Monday morning and found a baby snail. She was really excited about it. I was really glad she doesn't seem too grossed out by bugs and slimy things.

This was the perfect breakfast for this week. The peaches are amazing right now and I've eaten almost a whole bag on my own. Peaches with yogurt and home made granola.

We finally got a whole ton of rain that we've needed all summer long! It started pouring and our whole neighborhood ran out to play. We had a huge river in our gutters and it was really warm water.

Wednesday the rain kept coming. In three different storms.

During a break, we decided to go to the park for a minute and we got caught in another downpour. V didn't care at all. He was not leaving the park. Can you see him?

After dinner, it started again and the girls wanted to play in it again. So we went out.

It wasn't nearly as warm as it was the last time. So we didn't last too long.

This was the giant rainbow that we got during sunset.

The picture doesn't do it justice.

Thursday the rain cleared up and it was warm enough to swim again. So we spent the afternoon swimming after Parent Teacher Conferences.

Heres what my workouts looked like this week:

Saturday: Race day --->13.1 miles in 1:47:25

Sunday: Rest

Monday: Rest and foam roll

Tuesday: upper body strength

Wednesday: Rest

Thursday: Cross training: swimming

Friday: Rest

I'll be back at the miles soon but for now, my body needs some recovery.

On to the weekend. My birthday is on Monday and I'll be 30! I hope you all have a great weekend!

Have you had a rainy summer or a dry summer?

What was your favorite workout of the week?

Whats your favorite weather?
