Fast Friday

This week was full of relaxing and summer-ing.  To start if off, V's birthday was on Monday! I can't believe this little man is 2.

He's really into cars right now so we made him a Jeep cake. I like to try to make some kind of exciting cake for them. When they get old enough I let them choose what kind to have. This cake is probably one of the easiest ones I've made for a birthday and that was perfect because getting home from our campout the night before, I wasn't ready to make a big-to-do cake.

We ran some errands on Wednesday and one of them was the car wash. V hasn't decided how to feel about car washes yet. This was between him clapping and bracing for is life haha.

Then Wednesday night I took J to go birthday shopping for her friend. We went to one store and didn't find anything so we went to Toys R Us and spent a good amount of time just looking around at what was left. We are both pretty sad about them going out of business. J wanted to try out everything.

On Thursday V decided that I was a jungle gym for the morning.

We took J to the birthday party while M went swimming.

Here is what my workouts looked like this week:

Monday: Rest day - I was busy cleaning and birthday-ing and didn't get a workout in but we had fun.

Tuesday: 3.7 easy miles

Wednesday: full body strength

Thursday: Speed work. For whatever reason, I felt like this kicked my butt. .5 mile warm up, dynamic drills (frog hops, lunges, and some glute exercises), 3x200, 4x400, 1x800. 4 miles total.

4.7 miles total not counting our hikes from last weekend.

Here are the most looked at posts for the week:

What did your workouts look like this week?

Do you ever feel like a workout just really kicks your butt even though you know you're in better shape than that?

What are you looking forward to this weekend?

  1. Those little ones keep you hopping! Most of my workouts this week were running. I need to do some yoga.

  8. I'm still in denial that Toys 'r Us is going out of business. I keep thinking that at some point I'll realize its just a dream, even though I know that won't happen. :(
