3 Quick Workouts for Your Busy Schedule

As a stay at home mom of 3 kids, two of which are not in school, I don't always have a lot of time to fit a workout in when I need or want one. Because a quick workout when you can get it in is better than no workout at all (unless it's a rest day) I have a few workouts that I have ready for when I need.

In order to take care of my kids, I need to make sure that I'm taking care of myself. Most of the time that means that if I don't get my workout done in the morning, I almost never get it done for the day. On the days that I need a little more sleep, I make it a quick workout before the kids wake up and I get them going for the day. Sometimes 10 minutes is all I get, so making the most of those 10 minutes is important. Here are some of my quick go-to workouts to do at home whenever you can sneak it in.

(Keep in mind that I'm not a personal trainer, these are just the workouts that I do personally when I can't get anything else in)

You can do any of these workouts with or without weights and they are all pretty easy to modify where you need to. No reason to not take 10 or so minutes out of your day to move! You can also use these workouts for a warm-up before your run or a burnout after.

When you take care of yourself, it's easier to take care of everything (or everyone) else! Do what you can, when you can, where you can. Your day will go better, you'll be more productive, and you'll be glad you took that time to workout.

How do you make sure to get your workout (no matter how quick) in?

What do you use for weights when weights aren't available to you?

  1. These are great! I have a love/hate relationship with HIITS and have been looking for a few new ones. I run at least a mile every day so I am able to fit in a little exercise but agree that it is a challenge at times.

When I don't have weights I use resistant bands. Sometimes that works me more than weights do!

    1. I I’ve doing HIIT but only when I’m not actually doing it haha! I don’t have weights or a resistance band at home. Sometimes it makes working out tough. When I get to workout at y parents house I use weights and bands though. Thanks for reading Annie, have a great day!

  2. I don't use weights often for working out, actually. I just use my own body weight. Push-ups, leg lifts, and wall sits seem to pack the most punch but I know you're more in shape than I am.

    1. I don’t use them either because I don’t have them. But really using your body weight is so good! So keep it up.

  3. I need something like this- I always seem to get going with my exercise routine and then one of my kids will get sick and I'm up all night and then getting up early is so darn hard. I like the idea of doing this and who can't do 10 minutes? Pinned!

    1. I can completely relate! My kids seem to be sick and pass it around all the time around this time of year. Or they are waking up with bad dreams or other things. So sometimes all the energy I can find is for 10 minutes. Have a great day krist!

  4. I love (slash hate!) doing planks at random times throughout the day. If I'm playing on the floor with my kids, why not plank for a minute... or 30 seconds?!

  5. do you have a good substitute for planks? I have abdominal separation from pregnancy and moves like planks make it worse. I replace them with glute bridges but I could use more variety.
